Researchers

Introduction

Hopebotics is a young start-up company focusing on stroke rehabilitation using soft wearable robotics.
We are founded by Prof. Raymond Tong, Dr. Xiangqian Shi, and their team from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and are dedicated to providing the latest soft wearable robotics from hand rehabilitation. The Handtasker robotic system have been purchased and used in 10+ hospitals, special schools and rehabilitation centres to provide professional rehabilitation services.
Hopebotics is committed to establishing a platform integrated with soft wearable robotics technology that can provide rehabilitation, daily living assistance, and social functionalities to improve the quality of life of the elderly and disabled population.

The Main Impact

1

Most subjects with disability have shown different levels of improvement over a study of 8 weeks. Some of our chronic stroke users are able to perform daily tasks.

2

Our product adopts a biofeedback system from brain signals, which utilises electromyography (EMG) and Electroencephalography (EEG) signals to promote neural plasticity. The use of such a biofeedback system has been proven to be supervisor to other conventional rehabilitation training.

3

Through our collaboration with some of the largest stroke rehabilitation organisations and special schools in Hong Kong, hundreds and thousands of stroke patients are going to benefit from our device, disregarding age and severity.

4

Our Hopebotics Handtasker robotic training allows multiple users to engage and train in an interactive environment with the supervision of a therapist in a single session.
